4/27/22 Prompt #6
The frog in the tongs I held squirmed as I picked it up and moved it over to my pot.
“Stop struggling, little froggy; you’ll be instrumental in my potion. Instead of this potion being one of levitation, it could make the drinker sound like you, friend,” I told. “That’ll show Herly to mess with me again.”
When I dropped the frog into the boiling, yellow liquid, it sizzled. Before finishing my potion, the buzzer sounded, and a servant walked into my office.
“Um… sir, the king would like to see you,” she said in a shaky voice.
I sighed. “Right now? I’m almost finished with my potion!”
“Yes, right now!” The king’s voice from the throne room bellowed.
Turning off the burner, I glanced at the servant. She glanced and bit her lip while looking at all the jars of dead and alive insects and the animal parts I have.
“Do you like my potion ingredients? I’ve worked very hard to obtain them,” I commented.
She looked at me with wide eyes, then ran away screaming. I walked out of the room, other servants steering clear of me as they gave me glares, looks of fear, and anger.
“What? Do I have a booger?” I asked.
The tension in the hall eased, and everyone went about their day,
“My king,” I bowed once I got into the “glorious” throne room. Honestly, I don’t know what’s the whole deal. There’s only a throne, a couple of tables, and a ton of ancient carvings covering the walls with a sunroof. There must be a USB charging port somewhere. That usually brings up talk and excitement in a room.
“Magician, I have a mission for you. I need you too…” an explosion to our left interrupted him.
